The luminescence of nanocrystalline ZnS : Mn2+ indeed demonstrates a brief decay time element (∼one hundred ns), but in addition a protracted (ms) decay time is observed. The quick decay time is ascribed into a defect-associated emission of ZnS, and is not within the decay from the changeover from the Mn2+ impurity. The transition on the Mn2+ inc
